Handmade Christmas!

My goal for Christmas this year, was to make as many handmade things as I could manage! Keep in mind I have a 2 year old and a newborn, so this was quite a challenge.

I started out with gifts for our 2 year old DD. For her birthday earlier this fall, she received a cute IKEA play kitchen from her grandparents and great-grandparents, so I wanted to make her a few little things to go with it:

I made the chef's hat and apron using tutorials found on this blog. I hope she likes them!!

Our youngest daugther is just over 2 months old and doesn't need a thing (2 girls born in the same season works out very well for hand-me-downs), so most of her gifts are just little things I made like some soother clips and soft soled slipper shoes.

first post!

Well...after months and months of being inspired by other craft-bloggers on the web, I've decided to try this out for myself! I love arts and crafts but have just recently taken up sewing as a hobby. My grandmother always said I would want to sew, but I never believed her! Just over a year ago, my first daughter was 1 year old, and I finally realized I wanted to be able to sew and create things for her.

My husband bought me a simple sewing machine and I've been creating ever since. I get so much inspiration from my daughters - E, now 2, and our latest addition, A, 2 months.

I started out sewing some simple cloth wipes for practice and have since moved on to diapers, clothing, and all sorts of little things for our girls. I hope to use this blog as a forum to share my creations!!
